Last night I had to go with my family to another awards show. Normally these things are beyond painful- slow, dull, the same people standing around being fabu and congratulating each other (yich)- but last night rocked!!!

The people from my FAV TV show did this totally fun musical number where they were so majorly having FUN themselves that everyone in the audience enjoyed it too!

Seriously- when was the last time I used the word “fun” in a blog this many times???

Umm- NEVER!

This was one of those super rare occasions where having my sister be a pop star was wicked cool!

The best part was watching the little kids going round & round on the small pony ride they had set up over in a corner. The little kids were 2 FUNNY!! Some giggled, some cried, and one little boy shouted, “Yeehaw! Giddyup!”

Olga and I were totally cracking up watching this, but then Mom & Danni & the camera crew showed up and started filming us watching the kids. This made some of the parents of those little kids mad- I guess they thought that either the crew was filming their kids or Olga & I were making fun of their children- which we to TOTALLY were NOT!

Either way- what had been a mega-good time turned into another embarrassing scene (sigh).

Please explain to me- if people are SO entertained by MY life being filmed & shown on TV- why do they get so hinky whenever “they” get filmed?

That doesn’t seem very fair- does it?

I know they are only doing their jobs, but I don’t want the whole planet to see me being all wacky! That’s the “me” I am in private.

Being in a reality show really messes with your ability to really be you- the whole you- and nothing but the you.

Look- I’m hardly the next Einstein, but I’m no Super Doof either; it’s pretty obvious you aren’t “real people”.

But this does make me wonder… does ANYBODY fall for those stunts? Is there really somebody out there who sees a blog comment from a poster named, Make-Millions-Without-Working and then goes to the site and is STUNNED to find out it’s a cheap scam???

Oh man- I hope not! At least I know that none of my blog readers would ever fall for that baloney. Anybody smart & cool enough to hang around here & read this blog would be WAAAY 2 smart to fall for any of that garbage.

Well, this super cool lady has decided that it’s time to share her wickedly mega-delish cupcakes with the whole world… okay- not the whole world- but with people in her town!

She’s started selling batches of cupcakes to local restaurants! HOW COOL IS THAT?!? She has this rock’n talent & it’s something she loves- and she’s now doing it everyday and making a living at it!!!

I hope I have the guts to do this when I get older- make my “job” the thing I truly love. I mean, this lady used to be a teacher, but she got all exhausted and wasn’t finding joy in it anymore. I think her doing this is the bravest thing I’ve seen in a billion years. That might sound funny when you remember that my sister gets up and signs & dances in front of bazillions of people – but Danni’s been doing this for so long now that it’s easy for her. Don’t get me wrong – I’m world-class proud of my sis- but she hasn’t really taken a big chance for a couple of years now.. basically since she hit it big & got famous.

This lady was taking a MAJOR risk & it looks as if it’s totally going to pay off. I love happy endings… almost as much as I love mega-mondo yummy cupcakes!

WOW- the 80’s- I love the music but the rest of it- blech!

Everything looks slick and shiny & fake and gross! It appears that none of the guys back then ever washed their hair and the women all must have spent hours getting their hair to be so BIG!

And EVERYONE is smoking- inside meetings, at dinner… it’s beyond gross.

So- the next time my mom starts talking about “the good old days”, I’m SO not going to be buying it.

We went out to the desert for a couple of days. It was insanely hot! it was so hot that even our camera crew gave up on trailing us whenever we went outside. That was the good part. The bad part was that it was the kind of hot where you couldn’t step on the sidewalk in bare feet for even a second! Seriously! I thought it would be a hoot to walk around in the baby pool, but when I dipped my foot in- it was practically a soup pot! If any little kid had tried swimming in there they’d have been cooked! YIKES!

But still, it was wicked fun getting to jump from swimming pool to swimming pool. The people at the hotel said there were road runners all around, but I didn’t see any. maybe I didn’t know what I was looking for. I was looking for a road runner like the one in the cartoon- super tall and faster than fast… but then again- that is a cartoon. Do you know what a real road runner looks like? I guess I don’t.

Danni has been so bummed with all this gloomy weather that she actually stayed home today and read a book!

Yup- you read that right. My sister- the pop star princess – actually stayed in the house the whole day with her nose buried inside a novel. I could be snotty and make a joke about her needing help with the big words- but that wouldn’t be fair (true but not fair- lol).

Our family TV crew must be bored out of their gourds watching us laze about and do nothing. But what’s the point of having to work so hard to have fun when it should be easy? We should be handing at the beach, swimming in the pool, having water balloon fights- but if we tried any of that- we’d all end up sick for a week with rotten head colds… and there’s nothing worse than a wheazy, sneezy summer cold.

All three- here- in my own backyard! They won’t be in the bookstores until Jan – but just knowing they are coming is beyond cool. So now I’m torn- will having people around me reading the story of my life be fun or will it bring even more drama into my already nutty life? Hmm……………………………………….. I’m going to have to think about this some more.

What do you- my faithful blog readers- think? Is this a good thing or another mucho biggo problemo on the horizon?

My mom laughed and said how cute it was to see someone so excited about their birthday. I thought that was a weird thing to say- I LOVE my bdays- but then I realized she was talking about herself. Mom doesn’t like us to make a big fuss on her bday. I always that that was just her not wanting to be the center of attention- never realized she ha a thing about getting old- because she’s so NOT!

Why do grown-ups get so hinky about age? Why can’t they be like that kid today who was just excited to get to blow out a candle? Seriously- once you become a grown-up life is beyond exciting because you can do anything you want- right? AM I missing something????
