Little Kids & B-days
This am at breakfast at the cafe down the street, this little kid got a cupcake with a “3″ candle in it and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him. It was funny because he didn’t seem to get all the people looking at him, all he wanted was to blow out that candle.
My mom laughed and said how cute it was to see someone so excited about their birthday. I thought that was a weird thing to say- I LOVE my bdays- but then I realized she was talking about herself. Mom doesn’t like us to make a big fuss on her bday. I always that that was just her not wanting to be the center of attention- never realized she ha a thing about getting old- because she’s so NOT!
Why do grown-ups get so hinky about age? Why can’t they be like that kid today who was just excited to get to blow out a candle? Seriously- once you become a grown-up life is beyond exciting because you can do anything you want- right? AM I missing something????
Hi Sam!!! I love your books! I’ve read My sister’s a pop star and I’m so not a pop star!! Man, I love them. And I love your blog. You’re amazing and you’ve got a fantastic sense of humor. I really get inspired on your writing. I’m in the middle of writing a book and this helps me a lot. I’m trying to get my parents to buy me the third book My life on TV. Then I’ll have the whole collection!!! I Luv U!
Thanks!!! You have no idea how happy your post made me! I hope you are having a great summer!!
